What do I need to bring?
Ideally you need a spare change of clothes, a towel and an old pair of runners/shoes. Other useful things to bring include food, a drink and suncream (on sunny days). We will provide you with all the necessary equipment after this.
Do I need to have done kayaking/canoeing before?
Absolutely not. All our kayaks are perfectly suited and safe for beginners and we can provide a quick tutorial to anyone who still doesn’t feel absolutely confident. Our canoes are also very easy to handle although they are more challenging in windy conditions. In such cases we’ll recommend to take a kayak.
Is booking recommended?
We highly recommend booking in advance. Some of our activities such as guided tours and courses have mandatory booking. But even for activities such as kayak/canoe rental we suggest you book to avoid disappointment or to make sure certain boats are left available for you (e.g double kayaks). Is it suitable for young children?
Kayaking and canoeing can be a physically demanding activity. Based on our experience children aged 8 years old are in most cases able to paddle by themselves (depending on distance). However, we can accommodate families with younger children using our double kayaks or canoes as the children can be accompanied by an adult. We also have the necessary equipment to accommodate small children (smaller paddles etc).
Can I go by myself?
Technically yes, although we don’t recommend it. Paddling with a group of friends or even just with one other person is more enjoyable anyway.
How long does it take?
Generally most people will spend 3- 4 hours out by themselves when renting. Depending on the distance you want to travel, you can easily spend 4 hours+ out paddling due to the extensive network of lakes and rivers in our area. Guided tours, courses and other activities will all have designated times.
How much does it cost?
Costs will vary depending on what you want to do and how many people want to do it. We do offer group rates and rates for renting for more than one day. You can find the basic list of our available activities and respective prices here.
